The short version
- You need to be 18 or older and of legal drinking age where you live.
- What you post is yours. You let us store it and show it to the people you share it with.
- Be decent. No harassment, hate, nudity, threats, spam or anything illegal. We have no tolerance for it.
- You can report anything and block anyone. We look at every report, and remove what breaks these rules.
- Wine details and matches are worked out by AI and can be wrong. Drink responsibly.
1. Who we are
Decanté is run by Entropical Solutions S.L., Calle Pintor Salvador Abril 8 2, 46005 Valencia, Spain, NIF B75524595 (“Decanté”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to how we handle data as described in our privacy policy.
2. Who can use Decanté
- You must be at least 18 and of legal drinking age where you live.
- One person, one account. Keep access to your Apple Account or email safe: whoever can sign in as you can use your account.
- Use a name that's yours or one your friends know you by. Don't pretend to be someone else.
- You can't use Decanté if we've removed you from it before, or if the law where you live doesn't allow it.
3. What you post is yours
Your photos, notes, ratings and lists stay yours. So that Decanté can work, you give us permission to store, copy, resize and show them to the people you share them with, and to send them to the services that read labels and wine lists for us, as described in the privacy policy. This permission is free, worldwide, and ends when you delete the thing or your account, except for what's described next.
What you send for a place. When you send a photo for a place's page, or a wine list that we approve as a place's list, you also let us show it publicly, on Decanté and on the web, for as long as it's useful to people visiting that place. You can take back a place photo at any time.
Only post what you may. Only post photos you took or are allowed to share, and photos of people only if they're happy to be in them. Photos of a menu or wine list are fine.
Recaps. A recap is made on your phone and shared where you choose. What happens with it there is up to you and that service.
4. The rules
Decanté is a table among friends, and we keep it that way. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive people. Don't post, send or do any of the following:
- Harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation, of anyone, on or off the table.
- Hate speech, or content that demeans people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar trait.
- Nudity, sexual content, or graphic violence.
- Anything showing or involving minors drinking, or encouraging anyone underage to drink.
- Encouraging dangerous drinking, drink-driving or drinking games meant to get people drunk.
- Anything illegal, including selling or offering alcohol, drugs or other goods through Decanté.
- Other people's private information, such as their address or phone number, or photos of them they didn't agree to.
- Spam, ads, scams, or fake places, fake wine lists and fake ratings.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Pretending to be another person, a place or Decanté.
- Getting around these rules with a new account, or getting around a block.
- Interfering with Decanté: hacking, scraping, overloading it, or using it in automated ways we haven't allowed.
5. Reporting, blocking and how we act
- Report. Tap ••• on a check-in, a photo at a table, a comment, a place photo or someone's profile, or press and hold a friend's table, then Report. Say what's wrong (spam, unkind, nudity or violence, pretending to be someone or sharing private things, or something else). You can also write to support@getdecante.com.
- Block. Block someone from their profile. Neither of you sees the other's check-ins, photos, comments or profile any more, a friendship or request between you ends, and they can't send you a friend request, ask you to a table or ask to join yours. They aren't told. Unblock them in Settings whenever you like.
- We review every report, usually within a day. If something breaks these rules, we take it down, and we may pause or remove the account of whoever posted it. Whoever posted it is told what was taken down and where to write if they think we got it wrong; whoever reported it hears that we acted.
- We check before anything goes public. Wine lists and place photos are looked at by us before strangers can see them, and everything else is only seen by the people at a table and their friends.
- Where the law requires it, we pass illegal content on to the authorities.
6. Wine details, matches and AI
Decanté reads labels and wine lists and describes wines with the help of an AI model and web search. It's usually right and sometimes not: it can misread a label, get a vintage or a grape wrong, or suggest a wine you don't end up liking. Prices and lists come from photos and pages people share, and may be out of date. Treat it all as a friend's suggestion, not a fact. You can correct a wine's details yourself.
7. Drink responsibly
Decanté doesn't sell alcohol and isn't medical or health advice. Please drink responsibly, never drink and drive, and follow the law where you are.
8. Places
Places on Decanté are added by the people who go to them, from Apple Maps or typed in, and lists come from what guests photograph. A place being on Decanté doesn't mean we recommend it or that it works with us. If you run a place and want something corrected or taken down, write to us.
9. The service
Decanté is free to use today. We keep improving it, which means features can change, and sometimes it may be unavailable. If we ever charge for something, we'll tell you first and you'll choose whether to pay. We'll give reasonable notice before closing Decanté down, so you can take your memories with you.
10. Ending
You can stop using Decanté and delete your account at any time, in the app (Me, the gear, Delete account). We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other people; where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.
11. Responsibility
We work hard to keep Decanté running and your data safe, but we provide the app as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect loss, for what other people post, or for decisions you make based on the app's suggestions. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, such as for death or injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing takes away your rights as a consumer.
12. If you got Decanté from the App Store
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Decanté or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Decanté; that's us.
- As far as the law allows, Apple gives no warranty for Decanté. If the app doesn't do what we've promised, you may tell Apple and it will refund the purchase price, if any.
- Apple isn't responsible for handling any claim about Decanté, such as product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. We are.
- You confirm you're not in a country under a US government embargo or on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You also agree to the App Store's own terms. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms against you as a third party.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If something goes wrong, write to us first; most things can be sorted out. If not, disputes go to the courts of Valencia, unless the law where you live lets you take it to your own courts, which these terms don't take away.
14. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Decanté afterwards, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
